Whole 30 Completion!

Saturday , 6, July 2013 1 Comment

As you know from our other Whole 30 posts (here, here, and here), a few of us PSMB girls completed our first Whole 30 during the month of June! Needless to say, it was very eye opening. I definitely felt a difference after only a week of eating the Whole 30 way and I can tell you as I’ve started to incorporate foods back into my diet, I’m definitely feeling the negative effects they have on me. For instance, sugar now gives me an insane headache.

Anyways, here is the result of my little whole30 experiment.

End weight: 180.5- That’s a total loss of 9 lbs in 1 month.

Waist: 32 3/4 in… -3/4 in

Hips:  41 in… -2 in

Bust: 39 in… no change

Chest: 33 3/4 in… -1/4 in

Thighs: 25 in… -1 1/2 in

Upper Arm: 13 3/4 in… -1/4 in

Total lost: 4 3/4 inches

I also dropped a pants size while on whole30! Yippee!

And the photos:

And the before and afters together:

Ok so I don’t see a ton of difference in the photos, but I feel it in my clothes. I guess a see some smoother areas too. I definitely slacked on workouts once my husband got home… so I wish I had done better, but not too shabby I guess!

I definitely think I want to try to stick to a mainly paleo diet. I am going to try another Whole30 after our move this month, probably starting in August. I really feel good eating this way and I enjoy challenging myself. One thing I did learn this month was that my grocery bill crossed over to borderline ridiculous. So when my husband and I worked out our budget for the duration of this deployment, he brought up my need to cut our grocery bill… so I will have to work on eating great on a budget.

PS- Lindsay was the big winner of our whole30 giveaway! Congrats girl!

I stumbled on your whole 30 through pinterest and navigated to the blog to see some before and after pictures. I wanted to comment on your comment of not seeing much difference. Please be encouraged. I DO see a lot of change (especially under your breast and your waist. I suffer from bloating all the time and I do eat a fairly good (okay, very good) diet, but I do have sweets when I know I shouldn’t… I can’t help it. I’ve decided I’ve had enough… so I was looking through pinterest for low carb recipes that would excite me to give up breads, baked goods, and desserts loaded with sugar. I know the bell curve will be dramatic if you continue!!!! Kepp up the great work and your blogging about it has impacted one person! Good for you.
    God Bless!
