Welcome to ‘All about Dads week’! With Father’s Day fast approaching, we thought we would turn the tables for just a bit and talk all about the men in our lives. We’re excited to share a weeks worth of posts devoted to Dad!
Have you found the perfect gift for your dad (or husband) yet? Here are some thoughts to get you started!
Outdoors Dad: You know, hunting, fishing, kayaking. You can find gifts for this type of dad at most sporting goods stores, like Dick’s or Academy Sports. Maybe he needs some new fishing gear, or a survival kit to take with him on his adventures. Peach State Gift: a book about local lakes and streams.
DIY Dad: This type of dad is super handy and is always working on projects around the house. A new power tool would be perfect for him. Now, you might wonder if this is similar to the faux pas of getting Mom a vacuum for Mother’s Day…No way! DIY dads love new power tools.
Techy Dad: This dad loves gadgets! Does he need a new accessory for his phone, computer, or tablet? Just leave the electric nose hair trimmers at the store
Intellectual Dad: Head to the bookstore for this dad. He will enjoy a book by his favorite author. This type of dad probably reads a lot, so check out the new release section to make sure his reading material is fresh.
Sports Dad: If this dad likes to play sports, then some new sporting equipment is the perfect gift. Maybe he likes watching sports more than playing them. He might like a subscription to a sports magazine, or something that his his favorite team logo on it. You could also get him tickets to a game. Wrap the tickets with a team t-shirt or hat and you have the perfect gift pack.
Chef Dad: Whether grill master or indoor cook, this dad knows his way around the kitchen. What tool does he use so often that it is worn out? Head to Bed Bath and Beyond (or pick up a pampered chef catalog) and peruse the kitchen gadgets section. Maybe a new set of grill tools with the logo from his favorite team? Hit up a local gift shop and you are likely to find a grilling apron with his favorite SEC logo!
Trendy Dad: Clothes, shoes, accessories. This dad likes all things trendy. Take your inspiration from the pages of a JCrew catalog. If he already has all of the latest clothes, try some new sunglasses!
Music Dad: Does your dad play an instrument? Does he have a favorite band or type of music? This type of dad would love a chance to see his favorite band. Even if the concert isn’t near Father’s Day, it gives Dad something to look forward to.
A few tips: Father’s Day is a great time to get a fun gift for dad. Think about something he really enjoys. Avoid giving gift cards, but do keep the receipt just in case Dad needs to exchange the gift for any reason.
