Weight Loss Wednesday: Let the Countdown Begin

Say it with me now….5 more pounds! 5 more pounds!  Yes, that is how much I have left to loose to return to my pre-baby weight. (And then just 5 more to get to the weight that I really want to be.)  Wahoo!!  My goal is to get back to pre-baby weight by the time Eli is 6 months old…which is May 7th.  I have a little less than 3 weeks to make it happen, and I think I can come darn close.  I am going to have to stop making homemade pizza and get rid of the rest of my marshmallow peeps, but barring any major setbacks, I am on my way to success.

So, my problem is that my body is not exactly the same shape it was pre-Eli.  Even when I was heavier, my stomach was always flat.  That is just not the case anymore.  I hope that by working on my abs, my rounded tummy will flatten out.  Anyone have experience with this post baby?

My plan for the next 3 weeks are as follows:

1.  Focus mostly on fruits, veggies, and lean proteins.  This won’t be too difficult during meal time.  Snacks are often where I add unnecessary calories so I will stick to fruits and veggies for snacks as much as I can.

2.  Walk for fitness every day, and add in strength training 3x a week.  I did really well 2 weeks ago, but have slacked since then.  Here it is in print, so now I have to do it!

3.  Track my food and fitness.  The good, the bad, the ugly…I will write it all down.

4.  I will allow myself one small treat per day.  I’m talking 1/2c ice cream or one marshmallow peep.  Sweets are my treats 🙂

I am confident that if I follow the above steps, the 5 pounds are history!  Tune in May 7th to hear my results!
