Looking at the picture of me and my roommates was a small wake up call. I knew I kept buying pants, but I didn’t realize I was getting chunky. That was the spring of 2002, I was a sophomore in college. It would take two more years for me to get serious about losing weight. Not that I didn’t “try.” That is, I tried running and I started some aerobics. But I like to eat.
It’s finally here! My postpartum checkup is tomorrow! Fun female things along with weight loss and exercise!
This is not my first foray into weight loss. I lost my freshmen fifteen thirty as a senior. I lost 20 pounds after my daughter was born. So, mostly, I just feel ready to shed this 30 pounds that is still hanging on 6 weeks after the birth of my son.
I’m facing some challenges including eating on a budget and finding time to exercise as I still adjust to life with two children. I’ve broken out my weight watchers books – yes, I’ve been so successful with WW that I work there. (More on that as time goes on.) My starting measurements are carefully recorded. I’m making plans and thinking menus to support my breastfeeding body AND lose weight.
So I’m inviting you to join me as I take a look at my weight loss past and get to work on my weight loss now! I’ll be sharing my challenges, triumphs and best tips in the weeks and months to come. Please share your own struggles and success here on weight loss Wednesdays! Next week: my first weigh in and full week “on-plan”
