Southside Date Nights

Monday , 3, February 2014 1 Comment

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so it got me thinking about that special luxury that most parents do not partake in nearly enough: Date Night. While we are lucky to live close enough to the city, we don’t always feel like going to Atlanta. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite local spots for date night. I’ve divided them into categories for you to check out. Enjoy!

Southside Date Nights

Have a great meal:

Fayette Favorites

Grinds & Wines – Hwy 74, Peachtree City

This place is small, but really great. I love the cute atmosphere, the delicious food, and the awesome wine list.

Grazing Here – Hwy 54, Peachtree City

Fun, casual atmosphere and really great food. They specialize in grass-fed beef burgers, but also have other great menu items (love the Garnado vegan burger).

Franks at the Old Mill – Hwy 54, Fayetteville

Really good steak and seafood restaurant with great service.

Mr. Fuji Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar – N. Peachtree Pkwy, Peachtree City

Delicious Japanese food – we usually sit at the hibachi tables, but you can also sit at a private table if you prefer.

Coweta Favorites

The Cellar Chophouse and Bar – downtown Newnan

We recently tried this place and liked it a lot! The Cellar has a nice cozy, atmosphere and a very unique menu.

Mama Lucias – Ashley Park, Newnan

If you’re craving Italian food, this place is great. Huge menu, great service, and nice atmosphere.

Maguires Family and Friends Restaurant and Irish Pub – downtown Senoia

Fun, casual atmosphere, great food, wonderful service. This place is one of our favorites (with or without kids tagging along)!

Southern Ground Social Club – downtown Senoia

While most people think of this as a place to just have a cocktail or two, I really love their food as well. The atmosphere is not like any other place in the area – so unique and fun! I keep hearing the Sunday brunch is good, so I’m hoping to check that out soon. I love that the proceeds from this place help support Camp Southern Ground, a camp for special needs children that was started by Zac Brown himself.

Want more than a meal? Here are a few more ideas…

See a movie:

There are several movie theaters in the area. I usually check Fandango’s website or use the app on my phone to search movie times. Sometimes it is nice to watch something that doesn’t feature singing cartoons, yes?

Check out some live music:

The following are a few fun places with live music (most schedules can be found online):

Grazing Here (Peachtree City)
Old Courthouse Tavern (Fayetteville)
The Alamo (Newnan)
The Cellar (Newnan)
Brickhouse Grille & Tavern (Newnan)
Maguires Irish Pub (Senoia)
Southern Ground Social Club (Senoia)

Enjoy a cup of coffee:

Here are a few coffee shops with great local flavor:

Senoia Coffee & Cafe (Senoia)
Lagniappe Deauxnuts & Coffee (Fayetteville)
Cutie Pies Coffee (Fayetteville)
Grinds & Wines (Peachtree City)

What places would you add to our list? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
