Oreo Truffles Revisited {re-post from 12/21/2011}

**Enjoy this Christmas treat post from last year.  Eli was so little..Goodness!  This year I would start the post by saying ‘Place your one year old in his highchair with and give him whatever he wants to keep him occupied!**

These Oreo treats are very simple, a little time consuming but totally worth it, in my opinion.  The problem will be to keep yourself from eating them like popcorn!

Step One–Put your newborn in the MobyWrap so you can use both hands!

There are really only 2 steps to this recipe.  The first one is to combine 1 package of Oreo cookies with 1 package cream cheese.  How you do this is up to you.  I have done it a couple ways.  Today I broke up the cookies and put them in my food processor and added dollops of the cream cheese, pulsing to make the mixture into a thick paste. I had to stop a few times and scrape down the edges of the bowl.  Also, I did this in two batches because it wouldn’t all fit in my food processor at once.

Next you roll the mixture into little balls, a little larger than a marble, and coat them with white almond bark.  I found that chilling the mixture before rolling into the little balls makes it easier to handle.

Place the coated truffles on wax paper to dry.

Store in the refrigerator if they last long enough 🙂

**This year I tried this same technique with Nutter Butter cookies and cream cheese covered in chocolate almond bark.  They, too are very yummy!**
