As a breastfeeding mom, there is always the slight concern about milk production running through my head, especially since I struggled with my milk supply when exclusively pumping with the Goober. Breastfeeding the Squish has been drastically different (in the best way ever) than my previous experience but the fear over my supply still lingers. So what’s a mom to do? Look up and make lactation-beneficial goodies of course! I recently made lactation brownies and they turned out super tasty, though I think next time I will only bake them with one egg instead of two, since they were a bit denser and more cake like than I prefer. I’m posting a roundup of lactation supportive recipes I’ve found, either through Pinterest or other moms, some I’ve tried and others that I plan to try. Please feel free to comment with your favorite recipes for breastfeeding moms. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there looking for any excuse to eat yummy goodies and for some reason calling them lactation cookies/brownies/etc… means my hubs keeps his mitts off!
1 Box of your Favorite Brownie Mix
1 Egg (2 if you prefer your brownies more cake like)
4 TBSP Brewer’s Yeast (You can find this on Amazon or at your local vitamin store…I haven’t had good luck finding it at my local grocery)
2 TBSP Flaxseed meal (I found my bag in the organic aisle at Kroger)
Water/Oil according to brownie mix directions
1 extra TBSP water
Combine dry ingredients and then add the oil, egg, and water. Mix until combined and cook according to box directions. Super simple and perfect for busy, exhausted moms.
