Maggie and I decided it is time you all got to know us a little better. If you have been reading our ramblings for the past 8 months you might have an idea of who we are, but we thought it would be fun to interview each other and share the interviews with our readers. So here she is….
Rachel: What is your parenting philosophy?
Maggie: I’m trying to think of one word to describe my parenting philosophy…..Involved. Which means that I don’t get anything done! (Maggie is into the one word thing this year.)
R: If you had one free hour without kids, what would you do?
M: I don’t know! Probably go to Barnes and Noble, find a quiet place and read a book. My husband makes me do this sometimes.
R: What was your first job?
M: I was an extra hand at a greenhouse. I had some great arm muscles!
R: Who is one person, dead or alive, that you would like to have lunch with?
M: Joseph Smith Jr. Or the Dalai Lama, I have been reading his posts on Google+.
R: Would you rather vacation at the beach or in the mountains?
M: The beach…..where it is warm and sunny……without kids!
R: What is your favorite thing about your husband?
M: He is laid back and supportive
R: What is your favorite meal? (that you don’t have to cook!)
M: Spaghetti with meat sauce or lots of veggies, not just plain old marinara. Actually, I like the spaghetti I cook.
R: What do you wish you were good at?
M: Speaking. I am actually pretty shy.
R: What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
M: Hmmm…this is a tough one (gets out phone to text husband) R: Are you cheating? M: no, I’m phoning a friend!….introverted…..(takes out Ipod to find a thesaurus)…..Frank…..Calm….(gets text back from husband)….Joyous. R: that’s 4, but we’ll let it slide.
R: What would you like to be if you weren’t a SAHM?
M: Probably a dietician. I really would like to be an endocrinologist, but that would take a lot of additional schooling, etc. Realistically I could be a dietician and teach some fitness classes.
I have had a great time getting to know Maggie better as her blogging partner for the past 8 months. I know our readers enjoy Maggie’s no-nonsense point of view and insight into all things ‘mommy’.
