Making School Lunches Fun!

It has only been two weeks since school began, yet I am already BORED with making school lunches.  My picky sixth grader absolutely refuses to buy her lunch at school.  To her, buying a school lunch is akin to eating a garbage sandwich topped with warm anchovies.  So…between my daughter and my boys, I make school lunches each and every day.  It’s quite a mundane task, really.  The same thing.  Every night.

Healthy Homemade Lunchables

Do your kids beg you to buy them Lunchables?  Mine do.  And to be truthful, they totally gross me out.  But do I buy them?  Sometimes.  Lisa at 100 Days of Real Food offers healthier, homemade alternatives to Lunchables.  She also includes side-by-side pictures in order to show how the DIY Lunchables compare to the store-bought ones.

Bento Boxes

Bento boxes are all the rage right now.  The folks at Parenting.com share some really creative ideas for making your own bento boxes.  If you have the time and the patience to create one of these culinary masterpieces, you really need to check out this site.  I am amazed by some of these works of art!  My favorite?  “Sheepish Love”.  Seriously.  Precious.
