When did you first become a mommy and how did it change your life?
I became a mom on February 1, 2012 so we just celebrated my one year anniversary aka the Goober’s birthday. His party is something I plan to share more about in a future post. I’m not sure I am eloquent enough to describe how it changed my life. It just seemed that in the moments waiting breathlessly for that first cry, some indelible shift occurred, maybe it was just the oxytocin or whatnot but whatever it was, it made me feel like the Grinch when his heart grew three sizes.
What would your children say is your best quality…..and your worst quality?
The Goober is only a year old so he doesn’t have much to say yet about my good qualities or lack thereof, but if he was better at verbalizing he would probably say my best quality is that I am passionate about the people and activities I care about. He would probably say that my worst quality is that I won’t let him chew on my phone.
What is the most difficult thing about being a mom? Most rewarding?
The most difficult thing about being a mom definitely has to be the lack of sleep, followed closely by…zzzzz, sorry I dozed off.* The most rewarding thing about being a mom is the little smile and grins that are just for Mom and seeing the little man grow and master new skills. I am so excited to see the man he will one day become.
What is your favorite mommy tool?
Books. I always keep some of the little Chick-fil-a board books stuffed in my diaper bag or purse to entertain the Goober when we are out and about. Pinterest might be my second favorite, with its copious amount of ideas, crafts, and activities for kids.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
We are hoping to get to take the Goob for his first trip to the lake, so that is pretty high up there. And watermelon. I love watermelon.
*Did I mention I have a super cheesy sense of humor?
