Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

So this Chocolate ice cream is a little

gem I found on pinterest and just had to try! It’s great and super easy unlike a lot of chocolate ice creams I have made in the past. My lil sis and husband also taste tested, and said it was a hit so this is one I’ve decided to stick in the ole recipe binder for safe keeping!

YUM!

1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 8oz tub Cool Whip, Thawed
1/2 Gallon chocolate Milk

Instructions : First Mix the Cool Whip and Sweetened Condensed milk together with about half the chocolate milk in a bowl with hand mixer. Next pour mixture in to Ice cream freezer, and fill with remaining chocolate milk to fill line. A half Gallon should be just about perfect. Then just follow your ice cream maker directions to finish the ice cream.

Choc O Bars

So when I was in school, my aunt was one of the lunch ladies and I got several perks because of this. One being when I saw Choc o Bars on the menu I knew my plate would have 2 bars, while every one else would probably get one… unless you were on her good side. Also any choc o bars left at the end of the day would always be dropped off at my house after school. They never lasted long. Even after I graduated I would come home from work and find some sitting on the cabinet just waiting for me. I love these bars, and after thinking the the lunch ladies had some recipe goldmine hidden in the school kitchen, my aunt finally broke down and told me the recipe was in our community cookbook and had been for years!  Lucky for me my mom had 2 of those cookbooks. They re-publish it about every ten years or so and she had just bought a new one so I gladly proclaimed that the new one was mine. I left her that tattered one with the pages falling out telling her hers had character. I’m not sure what made me crave these this month. Maybe being 9 months pregnant had something to do with it!….or that it’s back to school time and I just wanted to take a trip down memory lane. Anyway I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do!
