If you are looking for a reason to get all dressed up for a night out on the town, then the Redneck Gourmet (with locations in Senoia and Newnan) might not be the right place for you. (Although I think there were some young folks eating their pre-prom meal there once.) But, If you are looking for a casual atmosphere with great (not terribly healthy) food, then you might think about checking them out.
My husband and I have visited the Senoia location on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is very casual. You order from the counter and are given a number, then seat yourselves and wait for the food to arrive. The food ranges in selection from fried grouper Po’ Boys to burgers to wraps. They also have many ‘salads’ you can purchase by the scoop, or pint if you would like to take some home. My favorite is the broccoli cranberry salad.
We each like the Po Boy sandwiches and usually get an appetizer of fried pickles (YUM!) or fried green tomatoes to share. Not the most figure friendly meal, but worth the calories once in a while.
I have even taken out of town guests to Redneck on a few occasions. We took my sister and her family to the Newnan location when they visited last summer. Everyone found something they enjoyed including my nephews who were 7 and 10 at the time. My mother-in-law and I enjoyed a meal at the Senoia location and she couldn’t get over how cute downtown Senoia is. And she is right! It is very quaint, and the perfect setting for a summer evening stroll after your dinner.
So, break out your Khaki’s and put on some mascara and you will fit right in at The Redneck Gourmet.
