So, if you have been stockpiling the Sunday paper coupon fliers, you are ready to put them into action! Are you excited? I know I am!
This post will help you go from this:
First, you will need to register for an account on couponmom.com. I have a separate e-mail account that I use when I sign up for anything coupon related, and honestly, I don’t use it very much. It just keeps my main email address from getting bombarded with coupon emails. Creating an account on this site will give you access to the lists that will help you organize your coupons.
There will be a drop down menu that will allow you to choose your state and the store within your state where you want to do your shopping. Click GO!
A new tab will appear that lists ALL the items that are on sale in the given store. The list also lists any coupons that are available for the sale items, and includes the date and specific flier where the coupon can be found. ( this is why I do not clip any coupons until after I reference this list. If i clip the coupons ahead of time, it is difficult to remember what paper/flier they came from) My favorite piece of information on this page is the column that tells you % saved.
The left hand side allows you to check a box if you plan to purchase the item. So, read through the list, check the boxes of the items you would like to purchase. When you are finished choosing your items, click the button marked ‘display selected deals.’ This will allow a list of just the items you have selected to appear. At this point, I print this list and use it to clip the appropriate coupons.
I usually jot down any other items I might need on the printout, so I don’t have to deal with more than one list. I attach my clipped coupons to the list with a paper clip and put all items in a folder that I take with me to the store.
Since implementing this system, going to the grocery store has become a fun weekly event for me. I love finding good deals, and saving money!
