When Rachel asked me to write about why my husband deserves the best Father’s Day ever it made me think about all the things, big and small, that my husband does for our family. Without him working outside the home I wouldn’t be able to be at home with the kids, and for that I am thankful. He keeps a roof over our heads and food on our table, not always the easiest thing to do in times like these, and for that I am thankful. He knows how to make us laugh, he likes to be silly and helps remind me that at times I get too uptight about the little things in life, and for that I am thankful. He takes the kids fishing, lets them help him with projects in the garage, and loves to grill dinner for us on his weekends off, and for that I am thankful. He tells great bedtime stories, always has Lifesavers for the kids and still opens the door for me, and for that I am thankful.
So, Happy Father’s Day and Thank You, to my husband, and to all the Dads out there who are making a difference every day in their family’s lives.
My husband deserves the best Father’s day ever because he hangs out with Eli and me instead of going fishing. He goes to work, which has involved quite a bit of travel recently, so that I can hold down the fort at home. He can smoke some mean ribs and chicken. He changes diapers (when I’m not home). He teaches Eli the important things, like how to give a ‘hi five’. He deserves the best Father’s Day ever because he is the best teammate a Mom could ask for!
My sweet husband deserves the best father’s day ever because a few days ago, I caught him blasting One Direction on the computer….just so our daughter could sing along. Never thought I’d see my Metallica-loving husband doing that!
