I am blessed to have three children, and of course I have a birth story for each, but as poetry often does, it expresses my thoughts more clearly than I can. When I read the poem below (found in “The Write Word” by Crystal Dawn Perry) I realized that every birth story is not only the beginning for a baby, but also a new beginning for the family they are a part of. Each pregnancy and delivery taught me lessons to help me become a better mother, wife, daughter and sister. I think that our children were brought into this world at a certain time to help us learn about ourselves and our families. Not only do we have lessons to teach our children, but they have lessons to teach us. And most of all, a family is constantly evolving, and hopefully, continuing to grow stronger as time passes.
Our family is a circle of love and strength.
With every birth and every union the circle grows.
Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger.
Every joy shared adds more love.by
